The Roadrunners got off to a slow start falling behind 12-4 before rallying to make the game interesting in the second half. GCC got to withing two points at 38-36 in the second half after Zakia Matthews (Philadelphia, PA/Timber Creek HS) converted a 3 point play but could not get any closer. Harford was able to cause a couple of late turnovers by the Roadrunners gaurds and held on for a 59-51 in the first game of the season.
Freshman guards Alex Koutras (Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Township HS) and Devan Solari (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown HS) both played solid floor games. Koutras helped the Roadrunners get back in the game by hitting several key 3 point shots. Solari helped to calm the offense in the second half and created several opportunities for her teamates to score.
The women will host CCBC-Dundalk on Saturday at 1pm.
