GCC Defeats Visiting CCBC-Dundalk

GCC frosh Marquis Jones throws down a dunk during an 18-4 first half run against visiting CCBC-Dundalk

The Roadrunners looked sharp on Saturday afternoon as they broke open a close game with an 18-4 run in the first half and then finished with a 14 point win over visiting CCBC-Dundalk. Freshman Marquis Jones (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek HS) led the way with a game-high 15 points including a nice dunk that capped the run in the first half.

Sophomore Anthony Talley (Mt. Royal, NJ/Kingsway Regional HS) connected on four 3-point shots all in the first half and finished with 14 points. Talley made five 3-pointers in the season opener giving him nine in his first two games of the season. Freshman Johnny Thomas (Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp. HS) gave the Roadrunners a nice boost off the bench in scoring 6 of his 9 points in the first half.

The men will travel to Salem CC for their first road contest on Tuesday at 7pm and then return home for a key matchup with Passaic CC at 3pm on Saturday.
