WAR OF THE BLOODS IN MY VEINS LECTURE with Dashaun “Jiwe” Morris
Date:  Thursday, March 25
Time:  12:00 noon – 1:30 pm
Location:  Instructional Center Room 430

The lecture is the life of Dashaun “Jiwe” Morris. He is from Newark and is author of War of the Bloods In My Veins a memoir of his life as a member of the Bloods and how participation in gang activity impacted his life. Only two semesters from completing his degree at Delaware State University, which he attended on a football scholarship, Mr. Morris was convicted of a crime and sent to prison; ending his college career and any hope of playing in the NFL professionally.  In prison he worked on his writings which would form the basis for his memoir. He now works as an activist working with youth in local high schools. He was recently featured on the Sundance Channel’s reality series Brick City. You may find info on him at this web-site http://jiweera.com/.

To actively participate in this lecture and understand “Jiwe’s” life,  it would be helpful to read his book.  The office has copies available for reading.  Please call 415-2236 or stop by the Student Activities Office for more information.
